It’s now exactly 2 years since Bren came back to the UK deciding to follow his passion in music again, and 1 year since he recorded his debut album Set Free” and performed his first proper solo gig back in May 2014!  What a whirlwind the last year has been!

Bren is fresh out of the studio after 2 weeks to recording his 2nd album Step Out Of The Haze“, which launched: 18th April digitally on iTUNES / 24th April – CD Edition.
Bren’s 2nd album is being extremely well received with “Hypnotise” & “Song Number 2″ being played regularly on radio stations across the UK.

Gigs and Shows!

Bren is very excited to have been confirmed to play 6 Festivals so far this year. Including a very special Invite from the BBC to play a set at LakeFest Festival in August! Announced on air 9th May on BBC Introducing.

Since coming out of the studio Bren has been busy rehearsing and putting together various sets including the special 90 minute show, still using two guitars live during each song.
The new 90 minute shows kick off Sat 23rd (Ludlow) & Sat 30th May (Great Malvern), Fri 12th June (Hereford); Visit the Gig Page here for details of all Gigs & Festivals etc.

Bren has also been booked privately to play a few sets, which is always great fun.  If you are interested in booking Bren please click here..

The promo video below was put together using footage shot in the studio and the video for Hypnotise also features Bren’s Alaskan Malamute “Nushka” who is gaining her own following.

March News – 2nd album, Malamutes, Festivals & Gigs!

Firstly thank you for all the kind birthday wishes, cards to myself and my malamute Nushka.

So.. the 2nd album!
I’m buzzing about my new album which is on track for release in the next 6 weeks.
It’s going to be a corker!

My hand is holding up and doing well and has not let me down, all is feeling and sounding good.
I am back in the studio for around 2 weeks to record the last few songs and then final mixing / mastering can begin.
The artwork is also looking damn fine (thanks Fal, Kirsty).

The wheels will then start to turn playing my new full set across the West Midlands and beyond with several festivals now confirmed. I’m very excited to be playing on the Main Stages at Livestock, Beefest, Gillow Cider Festival and Leicester’s SavFest.

January News & Happy Birthday Nushka! My Alaskan Malamute

Quarter 1 news so far!

  • An amazing day with Kate Justice on her show at the BBC studio’s January 30th.
Click here to listen to the to back-to-back interview
  • Proud to say I now have over Five Thousand Facebook followers! wow!
  • Good news on my hand.  The scans confirmed that my hand is healing! and responding well to treatment & on track to a full recovery April/May.
  • I’ve been taking the out time to write and rehearse for the studio sessions in March
I’ve put up a couple of sneaky clips to my Facebook Page:) so be sure to “Like” my page and stay up to date with clips/news.

  • Festival dates & shows are being finalised and announced and added to my Calender
  • My Alaskan Malamute dog (and ickle rock) Nushka turned 11 Sunday 1st Feb!!!
I know many malamutes have not been so lucky in life due to people buying a malamute puppy without researching and not knowing what they are taking on or how to look after such a beautiful & unique breed, as such many end up in care.
  • So, I wanted to bring to light (in no order) two totally separate organisations (not linked) that I personally hold highly & would love to help where I can.

Firstly: Alaskan Malamute UK Rescue.
http://www.malamuterescue.org.uk/index.html

Their mission is simple:
Dedicated to finding new homes for homeless Malamutes (KC registered Mals)
Offering assistance to Malamute owners who are experiencing problems but have no wish to re-home.

An affiliate of the Alaskan Malamute Club of the United Kingdom (AMCUK) and is run by its members on a non-profit making basis, relying on donations and fund-raising to continue.

Secondly: Malamute Matters:
http://malamutematters.co.uk/

They help all breeds and their aim is to provide financial aid and support to alleviate the strain on dog rescues globally and to assist individual rescue dogs in need S,H,A,R,E, SSDR & EMLR. They also run various events and appeals. 100% of profit made on shop sales is donated to dog rescues and emergency cases.

So, please show your support & anyone interested in owning a malamute to research & learn about the breed, chat to Malamute owners first, like me!

Thank you again for your support, eyes and ears :)

Happy New Year! onwards and upwards

Happy New Year! and what a year it was, not a bad start!!

Last week “And You Know” was named “BBC Introducing track of the week” on Kate Justice’s show. Kate played “And You Know” every day on her BBC show.
You can still listen on the BBC website or hear my favourite clip here where Kate said on Thursday’s show “It’s time to play our delicious BBC Introducing Track of the week. It’s been Such a privilege to play this every day, I love it! Bren Haze, And You Know.”

In 2014: I launched my debut album “Set Free” in March which is still selling well
Played 35+ gigs from April
(footage below from my last gig of 2014)

Had lots of national radio play/interviews, extra tracks launched November
which were also played on a few stations several times.
I made it through to the semi finals at the Birmingham NEC of UK Open Mic!
Gained 1.5k FaceBook supporters, 46k visits in just 2 months on Fandalism! made new friends, supporters and some great BBC reviews (one below):

“The Amazing talent Bren haze. The Wiltshire ex-pat has been very busy lately wooing a whole new bunch of fans with great new numbers
like “Colours” and “To the moon and back”.
“It’s totally heart warming to see such a unique talent play a complete set of original numbers and still keep a fickle audience entertained. definitely the mark of quality.”
Andy O’Hare BBC

So my plans for 2015!
More tracks will be released/recorded (new songs in the making), new videos and of course gigs!

A few festival slots have already been secured (details to follow) plus a few special “Evening with Bren” and showcase gigs.
I will be doing a few things up North, in Bristol, Wales, Reading area and possibly something in South UK.
I am also looking at a road trip to Austria/Germany with a special gig or two.

And finally the all important update on my hand!
I’m patiently waiting for x-mas scan results/decisions/strategy from the top Doc in London, however it’s looking positive and feels better to play with painkillers, Kinesiology tape &custom made silver support (as seen at my last gig in December supporting Mick Ralphs of Bad Company/Mott The Hoople).
Worse case scenario I’ll be gigging again May/June onwards.

Thank you to one of my supporters for the below footage! :)

COLOURS AND RADIO PLAY!
Well firstly I am very happy that in just 3 weeks of launching “Colours” on iTUNES I’ve had over 1k plays and 5 songs played on national radio in one day! amongst other very much appreciated radio play for “Snow Globe”, “And You Know” and “To The Moon & Back Again”, “Push Away and “Let Her Go” from Swindon FM, BRFM, NCCR and on the BBC’s Mark Forrest show and BBC’s Andrew Marston show following Andy O’Hare’s (also from the BBC)  awesome comments/review of my last gig below.
““The Amazing talent Bren haze. The Wiltshire ex-pat has been very busy lately wooing a whole new bunch of fans with great new numbers
like “Colours” and “To the moon and back”.  “It’s totally heart warming to see such a unique talent play a complete set of original numbers and still keep a fickle audience entertained. definitely the mark of quality.””

Social Media!
My Facebook page is still doing well with almost 2k followers now.  And within 6 hours of going live on Fandalism.com/brenhaze i had a staggering 2,300 views with 5 songs featuring in the top ten what’s hot list!

Music Video:
I am looking into shooting a proper video for colours to add to my “YouTube Channel” and looking at various creative people who could support and work with me on this.

GIGS/FESTIVALS!
I am still very excited to play the big Mick Ralph’s (Mott The Hoople/Bad Company) gig on
12th December at The Jailhouse Hereford.
I am waiting for my hand to fully recover before taking any more bookings this year.  I am very keen to do “An Evening with Bren” when ready and looking at several venues who maybe interested in hosting one or two.
I am taking bookings for 2105!
I’ve confirmed 2 festivals so far and waiting dates on a few other headline gigs ;) details to follow :))
Feel free to suggest me to your local venues/festivals ;)) I am really hoping to play SherstonFest (now called Boondocks Festival) as it’s my home village HOWEVER
They are currently raising funds in order for this great festival to go ahead so please please show your support (details here: http://www.theboondocksfestival.co.uk/) and let’s hope they reach their target and I get to play my local festival ;)

Iain’s Chain:

A very moving foundation set up to help those who have lost a loved one to suicide. Please visit this site and show your support.

More news soon, thank you again for your help and support
Bren & Nushka dog

Colours debut’d on BBC / BBC review. News on Bren’s injury.

Left hand injury;
Firstly thank you for all the get well wishes.
Due to an accident to my left hand (dislocated knuckle and torn tendons) I am temporarily out of action healing before I can undergo physiotherapy etc.

As you can imagine it’s like someone took away my oxygen not being able to play.
The Dr’s advised it needs rest and time to heal and foresee no long term damage.

I am still hoping I will be able to play the Birmingham NEC Semi Finals on the 22nd November, We will see sadly..
I am looking forward very much to the 12th December gig with Mick Ralphs in Hereford

Another great BBC Review;
